Universitas Mercu Buana Yogyakarta merupakan alih nama dari Universitas Wangsa Manggala (UNWAMA). Pergantian nama dilakukan pada 5 April 2008. Untuk Selajutnya Nama Kampus di sebut Mercu Buana Yogyakarta (UMBY).
Web ini merupkana Web Alumni yang terdiri dari Alumni : Intitut Pertanian Wangsa Manggala (IPW), UNWAMA dan Alumni Mercu Buana Yogyakarta. Untuk penyebutan Alumni disebut sebagai Alumni Mercu Buana Yogyakarta (Alumni UMBY). Web alumni yang lama di alamat unwama.ac.id/alumni juga secara resmi pindah ke Alamat web alumni yang baru ini : alumni.mercubuana-yogya.ac.id
